4.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

* Slight Spoilers *

Under the influence of their charismatic classics professor, a group of clever eccentric misfits at an elite New England college discover a way of thinking and living that is a world away from the humdrum existence of their contemporaries. But when they go beyond the boundaries of morality, their lives are changed forever.

I had put this book of for so long and I have no idea why I waited so long! This book was everything, it was so captivating and invigorating, I loved everything about it and couldn't put it down as I had to know what happened next. It was a bit slow to start but after the first murder I was sucked in to the world and was obsessed, the characters were amazingly written and were great at making you despise them and also feel for them at the same time.

The only things I didn't enjoy was the epilogue was a bit boring and I didn't feel like it was a very fitting conclusion to a book line this. Also it was a sign of the times with some of the writing especially the thinly veiled homphobia towards and about the only gay character in the book. Also side note but why did no one warn me about the incest?! 🤢

Overall I can definitely see why this is such a dark academia classic and I look forward to reading as many books like this as I can
