The Girl Who Fell Beneath The Sea by Axie Oh

2/5 stars ⭐️

To save the life of her brothers beloved Mina sacrifices herself to the Sea God in hopes if ending the curse that has plagued her land for 100 years.

I'm honestly so sad I'm writing this review as it was one of my 5 star predictions for the year and unfortunately for me it didn't live up to my expectations.

To start with I want to say what really liked about it which was the setting of under the sea as its not something I've read before and it was so interesting and cool. However, there were mire things I disliked than liked about. For start I didn't enjoy how it just jumped right in to the plot and then started the world building, which as it was only 300 pages it wasn't the best world building and I do think they could have done more in terms of world building. I also really hated the romance, it was between the 16 year old main character and an immortal hundreds of year old god and it rubbed me the wrong way the whole time I was reading. And even besides the age gap it was severally underdeveloped, it was both insta love and enemies to lovers and I just didn't buy it. On to the Sea God himself, I just didn't care for him as a character at all, I would have liked him if we spent more time with him or if there was more world building for him.

Also, this is such a minor thing but I git annoyed everytime the said 'The Red String of Fate' instead of shortening it as but the tenth time it was written out fully I know what it is.
